Blogging Innovation

With Panacea, gone are the days of needing third party websites in order to publish a blog.  Instead, we have created an integrated blog module that allows the client to use WordPress – a free state-of-the-art publishing platform – to create blogs that do not need to be hosted on a separate website.  Faculty can post about their latest research while your users can leave comments or subscribe to an RSS feed of blogs.  Students can also host their own blogs . . .

Student Journals

With our Student Journals, your students can create their own customized blogs.  By sending out their personal Student Journal URL, their friends and family can stay in touch.  Each blog has password protection defined by the student to ensure their privacy.

Events & School Calendar

Publicizing your events can be a great way to keep website visitors up to speed, and Panacea’s Events & School Calendar Module offers an intuitive way for clients to organize these calendar items.  In addition, this module offers clients complete control over the RSVP process, including defining and ordering form fields, controlling registration or ticket numbers, and much more.

File Library

With Panacea’s File Library module you can upload pdfs, large images and more, as well as easily integrate them throughout your website.  Updating these files is simple.  When you upload replacement files, Panacea automatically ensures that any links to the original file are updated, keeping internal and external links relevant throughout your site.

Form Review

One of the trickier aspects of developing a website can be the implementation and maintenance of forms.  Fortunately, PhotoBooks is here to take the stress out of it.  When a form is completed, our form review system notifies the appropriate staff member via email that an entry is in need of review.  From there, we provide you with the power to archive, export or delete entries as needed.  Of course, we understand your need for a secure way to review forms that protects your visitors’ privacy, so we also provide the means to individually control access to every form hosted on your website.*

Integration for related pages 

Panacea dynamically integrates information throughout your site via metadata.  If a user is looking at a specific department, they can easily access articles, videos and events pertaining to that department as well.  Likewise, accessing an article can direct them back to affiliated departments, and videos.  The end result is a seamless site that provides users with useful information at their fingertips.  

Microsites

One sizable challenge for a university website is hosting microsites for individual programs within your university.  With Panacea, the look of each website and microsite is fully customizable, allowing our clients the ability to visually distinguish between individual program web pages without disrupting overall flow.  Microsites can be as similar to their parent site as needed for branding purposes or they can be unique; including customization of graphical themes, headers and navigation.  Panacea can even allow our clients to control stand-alone microsites that have independent URLs from within the same system as the larger site. 

Mobile Website

PhotoBooks is known for staying ahead of the technological curve.  So as the demand for websites to be optimized for mobile devices has increased, PhotoBooks has been right there, ready to provide our clients with the mobile services they need.  We can optimize your website to give mobile users easy access to maps, contact information and even the faculty directory.  Phone numbers are optimized for one touch dialing and all addresses have an embedded Google map to make it easier for users to find your locations on the go.

MyHealth

Panacea’s MyHealth module allows users to securely store and access their personal health information such as diet and exercise patterns, blood sugar and blood pressure.  It’s a wonderful way to encourage students and faculty alike to take control of their own health and can be an important part of your fitness center or wellness programs.  The module can also be tailored to potentially track school records  as well.

Newsletters

Controlling newsletters in Panacea is as straightforward as controlling your web pages.  In fact, the process is virtually identical, eliminating the confusion and frustration of learning a separate system.  The only difference between creating a web page and a newsletter is that when a newsletter is created, you are required to provide it with a release date.  When that date arrives, the newsletter is sent out to emails on the recipient list and is populated throughout appropriate sections of the website, including RSS feeds.  Users can view and search on all published newsletters on your site or can subscribe to receive new newsletters via email.

Online Faculty Directory

Panacea provides an online directory for faculty and staff that can be fully integrated throughout your site.  If you want to highlight a business program, a law program or any other unique feature of your university, you can easily establish alternate displays of your data.  These alternative views can be as individualized as you desire including unique graphics and interfaces. 

Editing online profiles takes only moments, whether you edit them individually or in large batches.  Additionally, faculty can update and augment their own password-protected profiles.  Once completed, these edits can undergo a review process by administration before being published live.  If your faculty data comes from a third party application, we can perform automated imports multiple times a day. 

Online Student Directory

In addition to the faculty directory, Panacea can offer a student directory that can be password protected.  Students can use the online FaceBook listing to familiarize themselves with classmates at the start of the year.  Faculty members can easily print out class rosters complete with photos, allowing for speedier recognition of students in their classrooms.  Student FaceBooks also serve as a wonderful alternative to traditional yearbooks.  They retain the memento value of a yearbook, but allow the students to familiarize themselves with their classmates at the start of the school year.Students can print a selection of classmates to save as a memento.

Press Releases and News of the Day

Panacea takes the pressure off of organizing and keeping track of all of your press releases.  When you create a new press release, you are prompted to assign a date to the release.  Panacea keeps the release hidden until that date, at which point it will be automatically populated throughout the site as appropriate, including through RSS feeds.  Additionally, Panacea’s customization offers you the power to determine exactly which articles or events are worthy of being featured in any of your website’s automated press release feeds.  In addition to press releases, you can post construction updates for new buildings, targeted directly at your donor base as well as news specifically aimed at students.

Secure Password Download area

Our unique download module allows your staff to create password-protected areas where your faculty and students can log in to download files.  You set the username and password for each group of files and upload any documents that you want that group to be able to download.  You can edit the username and password anytime you wish.  You can also create a landing page for them to go to after they have logged in.  Any files that you have placed in their folder will dynamically appear as links that they can click on and download.

Simple Page Editing & Site Layout

Panacea offers full control over page creation, deletion, hierarchy and grouping, making site organization easier than ever.  Role-based editing, approval and publishing make it easy to control who makes the key decisions for your site.  Panacea also offers extensive versioning, style sheet formatting and additional functions customized for your specific organization.  Effortless title and page description controls promote powerful search engine optimization.

Page editing is as easy as working with a traditional text document.  eWebEditPro, our WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) style editor, provides the familiar controls of most popular text editors.  It has simple controls for manipulating hyperlinks and bookmarks as well as inserting pictures and tables.  Clients can create customized Page Not Found error pages as well as stage multiple alternative default pages, or dark sites, for emergency use.  If you would prefer to work directly with the page’s HTML code, you can do so with a single click.

Splash Pages or Dark Sites

Panacea offers you the ability to set up multiple emergency dark site home pages ahead of time for various emergencies such as tornados, earthquakes, floods and general emergency pages.  This functionality can also be used for customized splash pages.

Video Library

PhotoBooks has developed a user-friendly means of uploading and displaying videos through Panacea.  The application is easy enough to use that our clients are free to upload all of their own videos, titles, icons and descriptions whenever they have new media to share with their users.  More importantly, these videos can be integrated throughout their website with the touch of a button.  Panacea’s small video players fit neatly into callouts or into the main content with the text flowing smoothly around them, and can be expanded to full screen if desired.  They can be dynamically linked to programs as well as faculty profiles in place of a photo and can even link directly back to the media library.

Videos can be chosen by category or by related content and users have the ability to rate each video.  You have control over the number of views, types of ratings and number of votes that are displayed to users for the sake of controlling your positive web presence.  Like all Panacea files, replacement of video files is simple and populates throughout your site automatically so you don’t have to worry about dead links.

XML Driven Promotional Pages

Promotions are an important part of your communication strategy.  Panacea makes it easy to display multiple promotions as well as incorporate new promotions as needed.  Promotional images and text can be uploaded to a folder in Panacea’s File Library.  Promotional boxes on your site will randomly display assorted promotions from a pre-established list.  You can delete expired promotions quickly and easily.  Combined with the ease of uploading new promotions you can keep your marketing presence continually fresh and up-to-date with minimal effort.
